About project

A workforce platform for field retail sales teams: managers build and publish weekly store schedules, reps clock in automatically by geofence, and hours arrive as payroll-ready timesheets.

Field reps visit retail stores every week, and their managers need to know who is where, for how long, and what to pay. Before the platform this lived in spreadsheets, group chats and manual totals.

We built the rep app for iOS and Android and the web portal managers run the business from: scheduling, live attendance, timesheets, requests and team insights.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenges

Clock-ins had to be reliable without reps remembering to tap a button, in the background and on battery, while managers needed live staffing during the day and payroll-ready numbers at the end of the week.

Solutions

The app detects when a rep arrives at and leaves a geofenced store and clocks them in and out automatically, with a verifiable location history for every shift and instant alerts for missed clock-ins.

Managers build the week in a schedule with rep and store views, publish it straight to the app, and get weekly timesheets with drive time and a shift-by-shift breakdown, plus scheduled exports to their inbox.

Technical implementation

  • Flutter apps for iOS and Android with background geofencing that clocks shifts in and out
  • Next.js portal on Cloudflare with Supabase, row level security and Edge Functions
  • Queued and scheduled exports, so large weeks never block the portal
