About project

How an operations manager onboards, organises and offboards field staff from one CMS that works on desktop and phone.

Field teams change every week: people join, change role, get new leaders and leave. When the roster lives in spreadsheets, schedules, payroll exports and access rights drift away from the real team.

The CMS covers about 68,000 lines of TypeScript across roughly 460 files, with 39 pages, 46 Edge Functions and 118 database migrations.

Challenges

Hosting a large Next.js app on Cloudflare Workers instead of a Node server, while keeping roles, permissions and recurring unavailability correct for every employee.

Solutions

The CMS opens on a dashboard with headcount, average age, new hires, upcoming birthdays and a team overview. The Team section lists every employee with search, sorting and tenure.

Managers add an employee in one form, assign positions and leaders, record one-off or recurring unavailability and terminate from the same screen. Company details, notification rules and billing live under Settings.
